The specific wording of Visual Collections rights statements differs from collection to collection. The following examples are taken from the Florida Heritage Collection, the World Map Collection, and Performing Arts rights statements.

- If the source material is under copyright and has been digitized with the permission of the copyright holder, additional restrictions on use may be listed. Your use of these digital images is allowed by law only insofar as it remains within the terms and conditions listed.
ATTRIBUTION OF SOURCE Citations, quotations, and use of images in this collection made under Fair Use or with permission of the copyright holder must acknowledge their source. Proper attribution includes the title or caption of the resource, the name of the Visual Collection project, the contributing repository or copyright holder, and the URL of the Visual Collection project homepage.
